Founded in 1995
by Harry Braun, Sustainable Partners International LLC (SPI) has
been involved in a number of renewable energy projects with
state-of-the-art solar and wind technologies. Harry has been
an energy analyst for over 30 years, and was
the founder of
Stirling Energy Systems, Inc. which is commercializing the solar
Dish Stirling system that was initially developed by McDonnell
Douglas and Kockums of Sweden. Sustainable Partners was
also the initial developer of the following projects
and companies:
·
San
Juan Mesa
Wind Project
SPI
was the initial developer of the San Juan Mesa Wind project,
which is one of the largest wind projects
in
the
State of New
Mexico. Phase I of the project,
which included 121 one-megawatt (MW) Mitsubishi
wind turbines, was
completed in 2004 and the controlling interest was then
acquired by Edison
Mission Energy.
Phase
II of the
project will involve placing an additional 64 MW of wind
turbines
at the site, thereby increasing the total capacity to 185 MW.. The capital costs for
Phase
I were approximately $140 million, and Phase II capital
costs are expected to be $110 million.

SPI
Wind Hydrogen
Project
The SPI wind
hydrogen business venture is a 10-year plan to displace
fossil and nuclear fuels in the U.S.with
hydrogen that
will
be manufactured from the wind and water. The electrical
transmission lines in
New Mexico and most of
the rest of
the U.S. are at or near their carrying capacity. As such,
SPI
is in the process of securing the necessary
land and water
requirements in several states to develop
and operate a network of state-of-the-art, gigawatt-scale
wind-powered hydrogen production systems.
It is anticipated that these systems will be mass-produced
by General Electric, the largest
wind manufacturer in the U.S., which is also expected to
provide
up
to 80% of the project funding. Hydrogen
is
the only energy option that can displace fossil and nuclear
fuels
worldwide,
and is
the only non-toxic, carbon-free "universal
fuel" that can be used to power every existing vehicle,
appliance
and power plant with a zero-carbon emission pollution-free
fuel
that is exhaustible.

Phoenix
Project
SPI published The
Phoenix Project: Shifting from Oil to Hydrogen in
2000, and
the related video documentary
that was produced in 2002.
The 360-page Phoenix
Project book was written
by Harry
Braun, SPI’s
founder and CEO, who has worked as an energy and environmental
analyst since
1975. The book provides
an overview of the energy and environmental problems that
are related
to the use of fossil and nuclear fuels, and it explains why the
exponential nature of the problems
dictates that U.S.
and other countries must shift to renewable hydrogen
production systems
with wartime-speed. The
book covers the origin and evolution of hydrogen in the
universe starting
with the Big Bang, and it describes how hydrogen was a
fundamental building block in the origin of
life on the primitive earth.
The book also contains significant insights in education,
molecular biology,
cryobiology and nanotechnology.

Through our
commitment, experience, and expertise, Sustainable Partners remains
focused on accelerating the "transition of substance" from
non-renewable and highly polluting fossil and nuclear fuels to wind
and other solar hydrogen production technologies and resources that
are pollution-free and completely renewable. This transition
to a solar hydrogen economy is the "silver bullet" that can resolve
many of the most serious energy, economic and environmental problems
worldwide.
